FAYE&CALLA JEWELLERY
Jewellery Care Guide
Made for real life. Easy to care for.
Discover how to keep your favourite everyday jewellery looking beautiful, from your first wear onwards.
Everyday jewellery, made to keep up
Faye&Calla jewellery includes durable stainless steel designs, with selected pieces finished in 18K gold PVD coating. Our stainless steel and PVD pieces are designed for everyday wear, including regular contact with water. You can shower and swim in suitable styles without needing to take them off each time.
Waterproof describes the intended water resistance of the specified jewellery; it does not mean that its finish is immune to scratching, chemicals or wear over time. Always check your product description for material details, particularly if your piece includes stones, pearls, enamel or other decorative components.
Showering and swimming
Your everyday plans shouldn't revolve around taking your jewellery on and off. Stainless steel pieces with our 18K gold PVD finish are intended to be worn during everyday activities, including showers and swimming.
After the pool or sea, rinse your jewellery with fresh water and dry it with a soft cloth. Chlorine, salt, soap and personal-care products can leave residue or affect finishes with repeated exposure, so removing residue helps your pieces look their best. Avoid direct contact with bleach and concentrated cleaning chemicals. Where a product contains delicate or glued components, follow its item-specific care instructions.
Simple care, lasting shine
- Clean gently. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to remove fingerprints, oils and residue. For stainless steel and PVD pieces without delicate embellishments, clean with lukewarm water and a little mild soap when necessary, rinse and dry thoroughly.
- Be mindful of chemicals. Allow perfume, hairspray and lotions to dry before putting jewellery on when possible. Avoid bleach, harsh detergents, abrasive cleaners and metal polishes.
- Protect against friction. Waterproof jewellery can still scratch. Avoid rough surfaces, heavy impacts and pulling chains or clasps.
- Store with care. Dry jewellery fully before storing it. Keep pieces separately in a soft pouch or lined box to reduce scratches and tangling.
About our 18K gold PVD finish
PVD (physical vapour deposition) is a coating process used to apply a gold-coloured finish to stainless steel. It is designed to be more resistant to everyday wear than many conventional plating methods, but no coating is completely immune to abrasion or chemical exposure. How long a finish retains its appearance depends on the piece and how it is worn and cared for.
Care questions, answered
Can I shower with my Faye&Calla jewellery?
Yes. Our stainless steel and 18K gold PVD jewellery is designed for everyday water exposure. Rinse away soap residue and dry your piece afterwards when practical. Check individual product guidance for pieces with delicate details.
Can I wear it in the swimming pool or sea?
Our stainless steel and PVD designs are intended for swimming. After exposure to chlorine or salt water, rinse with fresh water and dry gently to help maintain their appearance.
Will the colour ever change?
Our PVD finish is designed for durability, but jewellery can show signs of wear over time. Abrasion, chemicals and individual wearing habits all affect the appearance of a finish. We do not promise that a coating will never scratch or change.
What about pearls, stones or special details?
These components can have different care needs from the stainless steel base. Check the individual product's care instructions or contact us before immersing a piece with delicate, porous or glued elements.
What if my jewellery is damaged?
Stop wearing a damaged piece and contact us with your order number and photographs. We can advise on the next steps under our applicable policies and your statutory consumer rights.
